The Bite of the Snake

To live a life without dispute with siblings or family maybe an enemy
Would be something not real but if a snake would bite you
You would feel the fever, the pain the anguish of suffering
Mankind dispkays a different bite, one without a fever
Though instead, it becomes dishonest, full of hate and mistrust
The venum of the snake draws near, the enemy of the night crawls into your bed
Forbidden drugs sold on the street, now high in the sewers of hell
The rats will rot upon the trash and the dumpster will fill up with hate
For too little, too late, as I drop the needle from my arm
Society, peer pressure, anger and judgement of my sin
I am who I am, and you are who you are
I would rather be bitten by the snake then
To not let you know who I really am Am I a man or am I a woman wanting to be a man
