The Canals

Moon light reflected on dark canals.
I can hear the water rushing to the weir.
Spirits are out hunting now I can hear them in my head.
No way to leave here except  in the water.
No way to stay here alive.
The mystery of life is meaningless.
All I know is death.
Singing an old nursery rhyme
I pause before I leap.
Whose to say I ever was?
Whose to miss me now?
A single tear long kept inside
travels to the sand.
The old black water will never stop.
I find my life is so undefined
Tonite I cannot exist
I embrace you mistress darkness.
I welcome your sweet kiss.
In the. Canals.
